“The Red Lion Eaton struck me as a proper, welcoming pub with rooms, not the other way around. Its proximity to the university makes it incredibly convenient, but the real draw is the staff's genuine friendliness and the surprisingly excellent food. I'd happily return simply for the relaxed atmosphere and the well-poured pint.”

charmed by the food and friendly faces

extensive menu friendly staff quiet village
I was happy to book again after a previous stay. the pub restaurant features an extensive menu that provides options even for gluten-free needs. the staff were accommodating and kind. the location felt ideal. It was in a very nice quiet village (eaton, to be exact).
the stairs were quite steep, which might pose a challenge for some guests. the landlord did mention that it's an old building, but i think a note on the website would be helpful.

friendly welcome superb evening meals good location steep stairs hard towels inaccessible socket
The evening meals had a superb selection (i especially liked the fish). The staff gave a very friendly welcome. The location worked well for us.
The stairs were very steep. The towels felt thin and hard. The sockets were not accessible without moving furniture, i thought.

Wonderful Stay!

kind staff luggage assistance convenient location
The staff was very kind and helpful. They assisted with our luggage! They also promptly brought a milk jug. The location made travel easy because of bus access just outside.
The WiFi was unreliable. It unfortunately did not extend to my room.

My room was a good size with very comfortable beds. The space was spotlessly clean! The room provided adequate space for luggage and movement.

The parking was very near to the door and very easy to access. Food selections were great. They offered an excellent choice of beers, too.

convenient access free parking road noise weak wifi
The bus stop outside provided convenient access to the city (it was very easy to get around). I found the free parking a great perk. I also appreciated the availability of French wines.
My room faced the road (it got a bit noisy early on). The WiFi signal was weak in my room. I wish the internet connection was better.
